YG Meeting... Exhausted... but the good kind

We just finished another Youth Group meeting... It was fun, and exhausting (but in the good way, by which I mean, I'm exhausted because of pouring myself into a lesson completely, not because frisbee bowling is so physical ;))... Anyway, I have prayer breakfast tomorrow early, but it also means that I only work from 830-12pm or so... so its a shorter day. Then Daniel (one of the kids from youth group) has a scrimmage at 2pm, so I'll be going to see that... that'll be fun... Well, have a good night all... later, Isaiah

"Welcome to Ministry"

Today is a day I will never forget... While I was at the church today, I recieved a call from a "concerned friend" of a man who comes to church every once and a while... He called to say that the man had been on a drinking binge and needed help... so I got the address and Dave (the Senior Minister) and I went there to see the man. What was seen and smelled after we arrived will not be described, but we saw a man who was very near death. With my own eyes I have seen the worst that alchohol can bring a man... All I can say is please pray for this man... I will not name names, but God knows... just pray for him... As we were driving back... Dave said to me, "Welcome to the Ministry"... Indeed.... Isaiah

Crazy new stuff... seriously...

Today was a hard day again at work... b/c of the rain again... but its alright. I was talking with my boss, and he asked about the lesson that I was going to teach tonight, so I told him about it, and that was cool. I usually don't talk very much, and need to be more open at work. Youth Group was awesome today... it was really fun... we played the "hand" game and another game that the kids who were there could tell you about, but I won't ruin it for you... ;) Oh, check this out this could be an amazing thing for 3rd-world countries and missionaries.... The LifeStraw from Denmark’s Vestergaard Frandsen Group is a device about the size of a large pen or drinking straw, the LifeStraw is a complete water purification kit that draws its power from the person sucking down the water. The LifeStraw is the product of ten years of development work, based on the goal of creating an efficient, affordable water-purification system for the developing world, where water-borne illnesses are a major killer. When produced in quantity, each LifeStraw — which uses a combination of mesh filters, iodine-impregnated beads and active carbon to remove particulate matter and bacteria — is expected to cost under $2 and be able to provide a year’s worth of pure drinking water. check it out!! Fired Up!!

Well, I've been rather lazy lately... and have been convicted of it... by God, of course... Today I'm going to update everything as I should.. I've been slack in updating the daily devotions for the Youth Group website... as many excuses as I have, no are really good enough. Sara and I have recently bought a car... a 2000 Saturn LS2... and its very nice for the price. We bought it from Shane, the owner of The Ledge which is an awesome coffee shop here in Riverton. That's a praise! Today was a hard day at work, not really b/c it was all that hard of a day, just because it was raining, and well, mowing and trimming lawns in the rain isn't fun. As soon as I got off work at 12pm, I drove over for the Pastor's Prayer meeting at our Church. It is always an awesome time to talk with other pastors from other congregations and pray together (and such a diverse bunch too: Four Square, Baptist, Southern Baptist, Christian, Way of the Cross, Assembly, etc...). Now I'm fired up for the day and for reaching souls for Christ and encouraging the disciples... Wooh! Well, I'm off, later, Isaiah

Exhausted... enough said...

Just got back from the Six Flags/Elitch Gardens trip... exhausted... Woke up at 3:30am, at the Church w/breakfast by 4:15, left by 5:15am... drove 6 hours or so, Six Flags until 5 p.m., then left to return back to Riverton... Sara nicely drove for a while for me... then I finished off the trip and we arrived here about 11:50 pm... I might talk about it more tomorrow... but its time for bed... 21 hours awake straight is enough for me... later, Isaiah

Busy, busy, busy... what more can I ask for?

Hey all, Its been a wonderful day for me... I got up early and went to work (nothing new there)... then came home, ate, showered, hung out with Sara for a bit. But... at 4pm... I had a dentist's drill in my mouth... sigh... not really a fun place to be. Earlier in the day I had figured that I would have to pay $498 that day, plus the $240 that I still owed... which would have brought me down to a measley $80 for the rest of the month... haha. Well, after enduring the vibrations and noise of a root canal, I went to pay the bill to find that they had only charged me $74 for that day... which mean that I only had to pay $314 instead of over $700!! I had been praying that God would provide financially and He did it just in time... Larry Burkett had a saying: "God's blessing is seldom late, but never early..." God just waited to see if I would go out on faith... and He blessed it... Praise Him!!!!! Isaiah

I'm done, tired and extremely weird...

Ah, today... it was a long day... but good... It is Sara and my 11th month anniversary since we started dating... pretty crazy... We registered at Walmart, then went to Pizza Hut... pretty crazy... anyway... Today I got to hang out with one of the Youth Group kids (and Sara's younger brother) Daniel for most of the afternoon. It was pretty awesome, just hanging out with him, playing some Halo 2, talking 'bout what's going on in life... I look forward to doing that more often - (unfortunately, I can't do it as often as I'd like... working two jobs and one of 'em being youth ministry doesn't add up well for fellowship time with kids...) Oh, its fair time here... Daniel's pig recieved 3rd in class and Becky's 6th, Stephanie's steer recieved 3rd in class and Kimee's 6th. They all did pretty well, and their animals are pretty cool, if not stinky b/c they poop on themselves, and walk in their own poop... which I then walk in... ugh... Anyway, i'm done, tired and extremely weird Isaiah
