Time... the healer of all wounds

Following up from last week, Jack (the final fish left) seems to now be contemplating the imminent nature of his own death. He now seems quite content to swim underneath the shade of the singular plant in the bowl and contemplate what might soon come. It is quite an improvement from his murderous plotting that resulted in the death of Whitey... and I think that now he is realizing the consequences of his acts, for now he must live alone in the small bowl, left until the end of his days to ponder his sins. Maybe we should all take a time to remember what we've done to those around us, and remember that those friends who we might sometimes like to kill are those who will stay with us until death parts us both. That's my thought for the day... -I- p.s. Walmart goldfish do not last very long ;)

Another day, another dollar (in the hole...)

Ah, school is back upon us... (well has been for over a week). I'm lucky to have only three classes this semester, Greek IIb, History of Israel, and Choir. Such classes make a light homework load and I am very much up for that. After some debacle, I have become the caretaker of my girlfriend's fish. It used to be two goldfish, but now it has become one... for Whitey has died... (though I suspect foul play from Jack, the remaining goldfish). He always seemed to steal the food from Whitey, and didn't even cry at the flushing... A heart of stone in that fish... and one day it will catch up to him, and he too will sink to the bottom... then after his rock for a heart quits beating he will rise to the top of the water, just like Whitey... it is the justice of the tank... the great equaller of all, men and fish alike. Death comes to the death-dealers and the innocent... the kings and peasants... What really matters then, is what we do with the time given us... -I-
